GoZero believes that the best response to the multiple ecological and economic crises we face is to build community resilience and collaboration.
Anyone can join a GoZero Community Team for free, by creating a GoZero account. Members can take up sufficiency challenges to reduce their consumption of non-essential goods and services. This is the best way to reduce the overshoot of multiple planetary boundaries at once, including concerning climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. Sufficiency saves money, which increases economic resilience in the face of ongoing cost-of-living pressures.
Where possible, we ask our members to donate some of the money they save to the GoZero Foundation, to fund community weaving activities. We also accept donations from local businesses that want to support their communities.
Our community weavers work to promote sufficiency, map community risks, bring together initiatives, and coordinate collective systems change efforts. They work to ensure that all members of the community can access essentials such as food, water, energy, public transport, housing and health services as the risk of economic and ecological breakdown increases.
We have limited resources and need to start planning how to use these most effectively to prolong community wellbeing. Community Teams will enable this work to take place.
